When a vehicle hydroplanes on a wet road, the tires lose contact with the road and the driver loses control of the vehicle. Slamming on the brakes (option A) can cause further loss of control and potentially lead to a skid. Steering in the opposite direction (option B) is also not recommended as it can worsen the skid. Accelerating (option C) is also not a safe solution as it can cause the vehicle to spin out of control. The best course of action in this situation is to ease off the accelerator (option D) and steer straight until you regain traction.
