Alberta Written Drivers Learners Test Practice

When you approach a traffic light that turns yellow, the appropriate action is to make every effort to stop safely before the intersection. This is because a yellow light serves as a warning that the light will soon turn red. It indicates that you should prepare to stop rather than move forward.

Stopping safely before the intersection is important to ensure the safety of yourself and other road users. It's essential to assess your stopping distance, the conditions of the road, and the behavior of other drivers, as some may not react as expected. By stopping, you avoid the risk of running a red light, which can lead to accidents and violations. Transitioning from a yellow to a red light means that vehicles should come to a halt rather than continuing through, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and promoting safer driving habits.
